COVID-19: 97 new cases in the province, 20 in Brooks, two new deaths

EDMONTON, AB. – The province of Alberta announced 97 new cases of COVID-19 today bringing the total number of cases to 5,670.

The number of recoveries continues to increase across the province, with the total
number of confirmed recoveries at 2,534.

Two Albertans have died from COVID-19 in the Calgary zone, according to the province, bringing the total number of deaths to 94.

There are now 1,054 cases in the South zone and five deaths relating to the virus according to the province.

The city of Brooks saw 20 new cases of COVID-19 identfied over the past 24 hours.

The city now has 970 cases. 823 are considered active.

Recoveries increased by 43 since yesterday. The total number of recoveries now sits at 143.

In Medicine Hat , numbers remained unchanged at 31 cases. Fifteen are considered active and sixteen are recovered.

The city of Lethbridge has 17 cases. Seven are active and 10 are recovered.

Cypress County is reporting eight cases, seven of which are recovered and one remains active.

The County of Newell has 11 cases. Ten cases are listed as active and one is listed as recovered.

The County of Forty Mile No.8 and the Municipal District of Taber each have two cases and two recoveries.

Elsewhere in the province, there are 3,775 cases in the Calgary zone, 501 cases in the Edmonton Zone, 218 cases in the North Zone, 88 cases in the Central Zone and 34 cases in zones yet to be determined, the province said.

Eighty-eight people remain in hospital and 19 are in ICU.
