City sets April utility rates

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Natural gas will cost residents about 50 per cent more in April compared to March.
The City of Medicine Hat set the natural gas rate at $2.2860 per gigajoule for April, up from the March cost of $1.5730.
The electricity rate for April is set at 5.736 cents per kilowatt hour, down from the March cost of 6.865.
Both rates are determined based on the average set by other providers.
