New provincial council will provide advice to government

The first task of a new provincial council will be to advise the province on civil society’s response to COVID-19.

The Premier’s Council on Charities and Civil Society, comprised of 15 influential leaders, will advise the province on how to best support civil society organizations that work on social issues. Organizations that will be supported include non-profit, charitable and voluntary groups, as well as social enterprises.

In addition to the COVID-19 specific work, the council will advise the province on social issues including sector needs, challenges and opportunities for collaboration.
