LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police say a 17-year old has been arrested in connection with a brief lockdown at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute this morning (Dec. 13) around 10:00 a.m.

According to police, a threat was made towards a group of students at the school. Staff were told and then called police to request they attend.

Police found the threat had allegedly been made by a 17-year-old who was not a student at the school. Staff locked the perimeter doors while the investigation was underway.

The teen in question was located a short time later by school resource officers at his place of work in the north end of city.

The lockdown was lifted after about half an hour, and activities resumed as normal.

The investigation is continuing, and police are still determining whether any charges will be laid.
