Police respond to motor vehicle collision on Sixth Street

MEDICINE HAT, AB — One person was taken to hospital following a collision involving a car and a dump truck Thursday morning.
At 10:09 a.m., a dump truck was travelling west on Sixth Street Southeast, towards Sixth Street Southwest on Division Avenue, on a green light. A 2013 Chevrolet Equinox was travelling south on Division Avenue and proceeded through a red light without stopping, and it was t-boned by the dump truck.
The male driver of the Equinox was transported by EMS to the hospital with what police called undetermined injuries. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
The driver of the Equinox was charged with failing to stop at a red light.
