South Alberta Light Horse Regiment hosting job fair Saturday
MEDICINE HAT, AB — Army Reserves across Canada are opening their doors on Saturday, looking for men and women to join their ranks.
The South Alberta Light Horse Regiment, a reserve unit in Medicine Hat, is among the units taking part, hosting a job fair from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Patterson Armoury.
“The Canadian Army over the last few years have made some changes to the recruiting system, improving the processing times and attracting more people,” said Major Scott Payne with the South Alberta Light Horse. “Every year during the September time frame, they try and do an open house, but now they’re focusing more on the job fair side, because we obviously want to recruit people, and we also want to educate people about the opportunities within the Canadian Forces and show off our number-one resource, which is our people.”
