Update on Medicine Hat courthouse suspicious package

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Police Service has provided an update on the suspicious package at the courthouse on Thursday that resulted in a precautionary evacuation.

According to a release, the investigation has revealed no suspicious activity, packages or substances.

Police do say one ‘exhibit’ was collected at the scene and following examinations, it was nothing out of the ordinary.

Police add one person was taken to hospital as a precaution, but their symptoms were likely due to a unrepeated medical issue.

The investigation is ongoing, but police expect it to conclude shortly.
