College focused on student safety as classes resume
MEDICINE HAT, AB — With classes at the college resuming Wednesday, staff at Medicine Hat College say they’re committed to making sure their campus is a safe place for everyone, and notes lots of work goes into helping educate students and staff about sexual assault and sexual violence.
Sandy Henderson, registrar at the college, notes the college first implemented its policy on sexual violence in 2017, and is reviewed regularly.
“I think there’s been more attention to it,” he said. “Provincially, all post-secondary institutions worked collectively in that regard to have policies in place to ensure our campus is safe.”
