Tigers ink import Brinkman Andersen

MEDICINE HAT, AB — More Danish blood has been infused into the Medicine Hat Tigers body of work.

The team announced on Thursday Jonathan Brinkman Andersen has signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement, making him official Tigers property.

It comes less than one day after the 18-year-old Danish forward arrived in the Gas City. He skated at the Canalta Centre for the first time on Thursday morning.

Brinkman Andersen was drafted in the first round, 34th overall by the Tabbies in the 2019 CHL Import Draft.

He spent the majority of last season with his hometown Aalbourg Pirates, who compete in Denmark’s top professional league. The left-winger scored one goal and five assists in 32 games.

A close friend of fellow Tiger Mads Søgaard, Brinkman Anderson represented Team Denmark alongside Søgaard at the World Juniors last winter.

Brinkman Andersen will now spend the next week breaking in his new equipment while getting used to life 7000km away from home. He will be present for Tigers training camp. which begins next Friday.
