Motor vehicle collision on Highway 9 causing detours

OYEN, AB — Drivers on Highway 9 should expect delays following a motor vehicle collision between Chinook and Cereal Tuesday afternoon.

According to Alberta 511, a motor vehicle collision and vehicle fire on the Highway west of Oyen has prompted the detours. The first mention of the collision occurred at 4:35 p.m.

Hwy9 between Chinnok and Cereal, west of Oyen, is CLOSED due to MVC and vehicle fire. Emergency crews are on scene. RCMP ask travellers to avoid this area, and surrounding areas. (4:35pm) #ABRoads

A detour has been set using Highway 884, Highway 570, Highway 895, and Highway 41.
