Two Medicine Hat residents charged after police seize copper wire, drugs and weapons
Two Medicine Hat residents are facing charges after police seized about 650 pounds of copper wire, drugs and prohibited weapons from a southeast residence during a theft investigation.
The Medicine Hat Police Service executed a search warrant at a home on Redwood Place S.E. on Oct. 8, with support from its Tactical Team.
Police said the investigation began after members of the Criminal Investigation Section received information that individuals were allegedly stealing copper wire and selling it to recycling facilities for profit.
Investigators reviewed recycling records and surveillance footage and conducted neighbourhood inquiries before executing the warrant.
