Here is What’s On in Medicine Hat this weekend: October 9-12

Thanksgiving weekend is here, and the weather is expected to cool after Friday for most of the weekend. There is also a chance of snow, but a guarantee of turkey consumption throughout the city.

Environment Canada has Friday’s daytime high at 26 C. This should be the warmest temperature for the next little while. The forecast is a mainly cloudy sky, wind speeds up to 60 km/h by the afternoon and into the evening. An evening low of 5 C.

On Saturday, expect a cloudy sky with a 30 per cent chance of showers. Wind gusts up to 50 km/h. The daily temperature stays steady near 6 C until an evening low of 1 C with Showers.

On Sunday, Periods of rain or snow with a high of 4 C; cloudy periods in the evening, dropping to a low of -5 C.

Holiday Monday, Sunny with a high of 10 C, and clear in the evening with a low of 0 C.

🧒 Kids Night Out at the Big Marble Go Centre

FRIDAY

Kids Night Out is Friday at the Big Marble Go Centre.

The program runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for children ages five to eight.

Kids can enjoy an evening of supervised activities, including crafts, gymnasium games, Nerf Wars and more.

The program gives children a chance to play, socialize and try different activities, while parents get some time to themselves.

Bookings are available online through the City of Medicine Hat.

🛸 TIC TAC Presents: Sci-Fi Night at MHPL

FRIDAY

An out-of-this-world adventure takes place at TIC TAC Presents: Sci-Fi Night at the Medicine Hat Public Library.

Designed for teens ages 13–19, this after-hours, glow-in-the-dark event features sci-fi trivia, alien and UFO crafts, exciting games, and more.

Attendees can dress up in their favourite sci-fi costume and enjoy a night of intergalactic fun with snacks and pop provided.

It runs from 6:45 to 9 p.m., with doors open to allow people in from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

🐯 Medicine Hat Tigers

FRIDAY and SATURDAY

The Medicine Hat Tigers play two games in Medicine Hat this weekend at Co-op Place.

On Friday, they host the Edmonton Oil Kings, and on Saturday, the opponent is the Victoria Royals.

Both games start at 7 p.m. 

Will Bryant and Lance Doll will have the radio broadcast on Wild 94.5 starting with the pre-game at 6:30 p.m.

🐍 Medicine Hat College Rattlers

FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers Women’s Hockey team home opener is Friday at the Moose Rec Centre.

They face the Lakeland College Rustlers at 7 p.m., whom they will host again at the same time Saturday.

On Sunday at the College field, the Rattlers soccer teams host the SAIT Trojans. The women play at noon, and the men at 2:15 p.m.

🚎 Sunshine Trolley Guided City Tour

SATURDAY and SUNDAY

The Sunshine Trolley Guided City Tour allows riders to discover the history, landmarks, and hidden gems of Medicine Hat.

The tour showcases the Saamis Tepee, the historic Medalta Clay District, and the Ewart-Duggan House.

You will also learn stories about the city’s neighbourhoods and heritage while enjoying opportunities to explore along the way.

Tours run on select dates throughout 2026, with children 12 and under riding free thanks to the Medicine Hat Mavericks.

The trolley is also wheelchair accessible, making it a fun and welcoming experience for visitors of all ages.

Tickets are available online for Saturday and Sunday, with both rides running from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Visitors will board the Trolley at the Medicine Hat Visitor Information Centre at 330 Gehring Rd. SW.

🎸 PWR/UP AC/DC Tribute Band at Esplanade

SATURDAY

PWR/UP, a Canadian AC/DC tribute band, will bring the raw energy, attitude, and electrifying sound of AC/DC’s glory days to the stage of the Esplanade on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Featuring Jon Bon Johnson, a multiple-time winner of the AC/DC World Singer Contest in Europe, the band is said to capture the spirit of both Bon Scott and Brian Johnson with remarkable authenticity.
