The Alberta Junior Hockey League announced its officiating team for the 2026-27 season on Thursday.

Several current and former Medicine Hat residents are included.

Current Hatters Matt Wass and Kent Hanna have been named as referees, a role both have filled for several years.

Linepeople include Adam Klick and former residents Marcus Gerow, Kayden Pickles, Megan French, and Max Eady. Gerow and Pickles grew up in Medicine Hat, while French and Eady attended school at Medicine Hat College.

French was among five AJHL officials selected to attend the 2026 NHL Exposure Combine in August.

Hanna, Klick and Gerow have also worked as linesmen again this season in the Western Hockey League.

Medicine Hat’s Austin Weisgerber has also returned for another season as a WHL referee. He has also served as a WHL linesman.
