The Brooks Bandits have now won four straight games and have their first road win of the season.

A dominant 8-3 win over the Sherwood Park Crusaders on Wednesday night included goals from six different Bandits players, with Jeremy Leroux and Koby Francis each netting a pair.

Special teams played a large role in the game.

The Bandits had jumped out to a 5-0 lead after their fifth power-play goal just past the midway point of the second period.

Shortly after, the Crusaders would get their first of the game on a short-handed marker from Mavrick Burnet.

In the third period, Brooks would score three more to extend the lead to 8-1.

The Crusaders would get a pair in the final three minutes, first a power-play marker, then the second of the game for Burnet.

Brooks was five-for-10 on the powerplay, the Crusaders were one-for-eight.

Emile Beaunoyer turned aside 30 of 33 shots he faced to earn the win in net for the Bandits.

Justin Robinson took the loss after stopping 35 of 43 shots in net for the Crusaders.

The Bandits’ Alexandre Monarque was named the first star of the game with a goal and two assists. Francis took second star, also chipping in an assist with his two goals. Beaunoyer took third star.

It was only the second road game of the season for the Bandits, who had lost the season opener to the Bulldogs in Blackfalds on Sept. 18.

The Bandits have played five straight Interior East Division games to start the year.

Next up, they will host Coastal West Division opponent, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, on Oct. 9 at the Centennial Regional Arena. It will be the first-ever game between the two teams.

The Bandits, with a 4-1 record, sit in first place in the Interior East Division.
