Lethbridge teen charged after investigation revealed contact with online terrorist group

A 17-year-old Lethbridge teen is scheduled to appear in court next month facing a long list of charges including terrorism-related allegations.

The charges stem from an investigation led by the RCMP’s Federal Policing Northwest Region Intregrated National Enforcement Team (INSET). 

Authorities allege the 17-year-old was linked to online activity with the 764 Network, a group known to have violent extremist views. 

The teen, who can’t be named under the Young Offenders Act, is also accused of possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material.
