Elkwater to host mock park evacuation exercise on Friday

Elkwater residents and visitors are being advised that a mock park evacuation exercise will take place on Friday.

The training exercise is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., with emergency vehicles expected to travel throughout the Elkwater townsite between 2 and 4 p.m. using their sirens.

Cypress County says the exercise is only for training purposes and there is no need for residents or visitors to evacuate.

The exercise is intended to help prepare emergency responders and the community for a potential park evacuation.
