Medicine Hat residents rally as Alberta’s two-tier health-care plan takes effect
Residents in Medicine Hat joined health-care advocates on Tuesday in calling for an end to Alberta’s move toward a two-tier health-care system.
A rally was held outside the Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner constituency office as part of a national day of action organized by Friends of Medicare and other health-care advocates.
The demonstrations are calling on the federal government to intervene over Alberta legislation that critics say could create a system where people who can afford to pay receive faster access to care.
Trish Carr attended the Medicine Hat rally and said she wants to see the two-tier system stopped.
