Medicine Hat Transit Route 10 changes now in effect

Aug 28, 2026 | 8:46 AM

Medicine Hat Transit has changed the Route 10 bus route in an effort to improve schedule reliability across the transit system.

The changes took effect Aug. 27 following concerns about Route 10 frequently running behind schedule, particularly during periods of higher ridership. Transit officials say delays can result in missed connections and affect other routes.

Under the new routing, Route 10 will no longer travel west along 12 Street Northeast. Three stops on the north side of that section will instead be serviced by existing Route 11 stops on the south side of 12 Street.

Two southbound stops on Division Avenue have also been removed. Riders will instead use existing Route 10 stops on the east side of the street, with signage directing passengers to the nearest alternative stops.

The changes follow a survey of 560 transit users. Seventy-six per cent said improving on-time performance was important, while 73 per cent said the changes would either have no impact or a positive impact on their travel habits.

The City says 88 per cent of respondents indicated it would be easy to access transit from another nearby stop or route.

Riders can find the updated Route 10 information in the Medicine Hat Transit Ride Guide and the MHTapp.
