Let’s Talk Alberta makes a stop in Redcliff on Tuesday

Let’s Talk Alberta is travelling across the province to discuss Alberta Independence. They are making a stop in Redcliff on Tuesday night at Harmony Hall.

The event will have three speakers and a question-and-answer session. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with speakers beginning at 7 p.m.

Speakers include Christopher Scott, who owns the Whistle Stop Cafe in Mirror, Alta. His cafe and convenience store grew a social media presence of over 143,000, spurred originally by his vocal opposition to COVID-19 restrictions. Also speaking are Benoit Trudeau and John Riel.

The group continues its tour across southern Alberta on Wednesday for sign drops and meet-and-greets.

Some of the planned stops include Brooks from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. across from Walmart, Duchess from 11:30 a.m. to noon, and Rosemary from 12:20 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. The group will continue to Countess from 12:50 p.m. to 1 p.m., and to Bassano from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Exact locations of the stops in several communities weren’t listed.

The rest of the day will include stops at communities outside of both the Calgary and Red Deer areas.

A referendum vote will be held in Alberta on Oct. 19, 2026, with 10 questions put to a vote.

Among them is the question: Should Alberta remain a province of Canada, or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?

The Forever Canadian Unity Bus made a stop in Medicine Hat on Aug. 1 to distribute signs.

That group’s mission is to keep Alberta in Canada, and former Alberta deputy premier Thomas Lucaszuk organizes it.
