Cypress County takes next steps for proposed recreational facility in Dunmore
Cypress County council has directed administration to prepare a request for proposals for the design and construction of a proposed recreation centre in Dunmore.
Council has set a global project budget of $65 million, with funding expected from municipal reserves, debentures, grants and sponsorships.
The proposed facility could include two sheets of ice, up to six curling sheets and other supporting amenities.
“Council recognizes that a project of this scale is a significant investment in the future of Cypress County,” Mayor Dan Hamilton said in a statement.
