Medicine Hat’s Garcia to play soccer for Canada in Peru in November

Canada and the host Peru are among five teams that will compete, joined by Ecuador, Mexico and Venezuela.

A recent graduate of Monsignor McCoy High School, Garcia is signed to play with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers Women’s Soccer program for the 2026-2027 season.

The Rattlers announced the signing in December. She will be enrolled in the Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant program.

Rattlers Coach Damir Omerovic said at the time of the signing that he is familiar with Garcia’s game.

“Having watched Jessica as a player over the years and seeing her progress, I’m excited to have her join the team next season,” Omerovic said in a statement.

“With her technical ability and creativity, she’ll be a great addition to the program. I look forward to seeing her continue to grow and excel at the college level.”

Garcia said she is excited for the opportunity to play for the Rattlers.

“I look forward to future opportunities to play and to get to know other players on the team,” Garcia said in a statement.

The Rattlers play their first exhibition game of the season on the road Aug. 22 against the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder.
