Alberta Wildlife Federation launches Double-Crested Cormorant Monitoring Project

Can you help the Alberta Wildlife Federation (AWF) spot double-crested cormorants?

That’s exactly what the organization is asking of anglers, boaters, birdwatchers, landowners, and other outdoor enthusiasts to do over the coming weeks as part of its Double-Crested Cormorant Monitoring Project.

“Double-crested cormorants are a familiar sight on many Alberta lakes and reservoirs, but there is still much to learn about their distribution, nesting locations, and population trends,” the AWF says.

“By reporting your observations, you can help contribute valuable information that supports future monitoring and management efforts.”
