Heat warning in place for Southeast Alberta through the weekend

Residents across Medicine Hat and southeastern Alberta are being urged to take precautions as a heat warning was put in effect on Friday morning.

Temperatures forecast by Environment Canada are expected to reach 33 to 35 degrees through the weekend, with overnight lows providing limited relief. 

Environment Canada recommends drinking plenty of water, planning outdoor activities for cooler parts of the day and checking on family, friends and neighbours who may be at greater risk from extreme heat.

Weather warnings also extend into southwest Saskatchewan, with temperatures even more extreme in some areas.
