Woodman Avenue Southeast closing for road rehabilitation project

Jul 5, 2024 | 3:08 PM

A two-block section of Woodman Avenue Southeast will close starting Monday for maintenance expected to finish in September, weather permitting.

The road rehabilitation project will be done in two stages, the city said.

The first stage stretches from the intersection of Dominion Street Southeast up to and including the intersection of Queen Street Southeast.

Once completed, crews will then move from Queen Street Southeast up to and including the intersection of Elm Street Southeast.

Map of construction stages released by the City of Medicine Hat.

During this project, the city will upgrade and install storm water infrastructure, replace road pavement, and replace the curb, gutter and other concrete surfaces as required.

This project is a key component of the city’s transportation infrastructure renewal strategy, according to a news release.

Traffic management plans, including detours, will be in place as construction begins. Detour routes may change as crews shift between project stages.
