On Monday, May 10, RCMP had put out a call asking for the public’s help in locating Philip Toner, a person of interest in the investigation into Ware’s death.

Acting Officer-In-Charge Supt. Sanjaya Wijayakoon of the BC RCMP Major Crime Section stated then that Ware and Toner were known to each other. It was noted that Toner has ties to both British Columbia and Alberta.

On Tuesday, May 11, RCMP confirmed that they had located the 41-year-old in the Central Okanagan area.

Supt. Wijayakoon stated, “Major crime investigators continue to pursue all avenues of investigation into the suspicious death of Brenda Ware.”

“There continues to be no known threat to public safety at this time.”

The RCMP is asking anyone with any information about Ware’s death to contact the SED Major Crime Unit Information Line at 1-877-987-8477.
