COVID-19 Update: 284 new cases, five confirmed deaths

EDMONTON,AB- There are 284 new cases of COVID-19 in Alberta. The active case count stands at 5,215 cases. That’s down by 56 cases from Saturday’s case count

Hospitalizations also declined. In total there are 351 people in the hospital, down from 359 on Saturday. There are currently 60 people in ICU which is down from 64 at the last update.

The province also confirmed five new deaths.

In terms of testing, 7,972 tests were completed, according to the province, bringing the positivity rate to 3.7 per cent.

In Medicine Hat, there are 16 active cases of COVID-19. A total of 510 people have recovered and there have been 14 deaths attributed to the pandemic.

In Cypress County, there is one active case and 144 people have recovered.

The County of Forty Mile has zero active cases.

In Newell County, they have two active cases, 155 recoveries, and two recorded deaths.

The city of Brooks has three active cases, 1.349 recoveries and 14 recorded deaths.

The Municipal District of Taber has five active cases, 322 recoveries, and six deaths.

Lethbridge County has 13 active cases, 507 recoveries, and seven deaths.

The City of Lethbridge has 192 active cases 1,697 recoveries and eight recorded deaths.

The next live update with the province’s chief medical officer of health is slated for this Tuesday.
