College hosting virtual open house for prospective students

MEDICINE HAT, AB – If you’ve been thinking about taking classes at Medicine Hat College, there’s a virtual open house next month that might interest you.

The event on March 3 is designed for current and recent high school graduates or mature learners considering a new career path.

“We’re going to have Q and A sessions for each individual program that we offer and every program we have is going to be joining us that evening. We’re going to have virtual tours for them to explore campus as well as residence,” says Landon Heilman, student recruitment coordinator.

One exciting aspect of the virtual open house is Career Coach, says Heilman. It’s a tool for people who may be undecided to explore which programs might be a good fit for them.

“It’s a whole assessment of what their strengths are as well as combining that and aligning that with the programs that we offer and different industries and job opportunities out there that may fit their strengths,” explains Heilman.

Heilman says the virtual open house is the only event of the year that offers prospective students the chance to really explore everything MHC has to offer.

Anyone interested must RSVP beforehand to get the link and code for a discounted application rate.

The college is also hosting virtual info sessions that focus on specific programs. Heilman says those sessions are a great opportunity for program-specific information.
