COVID-19: Province continues to see ‘encouraging signs’ with decline in cases and hospitalizations

There are 463 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed across the province for Sunday.

A total of 10,237 tests were completed over the past 24 hours.

The provincial positivity rate stands at 4.4 per cent which is down from 5.3 per cent on Saturday.

There are 652 people in the hospital province-wide with 111 of those in intensive care.

The province also confirmed 24 additional deaths.

In total, there are 9,511 active cases throughout Alberta.

In Medicine Hat , there are 30 active cases of COVID-19, 481 recoveries and 12 deaths.

Cypress County has one active case, 143 recoveries and zero deaths.

The city of Brooks has four active cases ,1344 recoveries, and 14 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Newell County has 10 active cases, 114 recoveries and two deaths.

The Municipal District of Taber has six active cases, 316 recoveries and six deaths.

The County of Forty Mile has 1 active case, 114 recoveries, and two deaths.

Lethbridge County has 26 active cases, 467 recoveries and seven deaths.

The City of Lethbridge has 129 active cases, 1,492 recoveries, and 11 deaths.

Cardston County has 116 active cases, 321 recoveries, and six deaths.

On Twitter, the province’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw said the province “continues to see encouraging signs,” in terms of the decline of active cases and hospitalizations. She urged all Albertans to keep the momentum going to further reduce the spread.
