Local trucks headed for Ottawa as part of the Yellow-Vest Convoy

Medicine Hat, AB – Even though it was probably the coldest rally to date, protesters yet again took to the streets of Medicine Hat today.

Roughly 40 residents were out on Dunmore Road voicing their displeasure with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Government.

But, there were a few new additions to today’s rally.

A pair of trucks were decorated in support for the Yellow-Vest movement and they will be taking part in the truck convoy that is headed for Ottawa in mid-February.

President of DD2 Oilfield Rentals and Services Ken Goldade says he’s ready to send a direct message to Trudeau and the Liberal Government.

“The purpose is just to be noticed,” explained Goldade. “It’s just to show the country how we can come together as a group and work together. Everybody is pulling from the same end of the rope and we want to show Trudeau and the Liberals that we don’t support what they’re doing.”

The truck rally is scheduled to leave Red Deer on February 14th.

“They’ll be driving through Medicine Hat and we’ll join at that point. I don’t know how many other people are going from Medicine Hat, but we’ll join in and follow them down. Hopefully, we get all kinds of trucks and a great turn out and make a difference so everybody notices.”

Goldade says he’s received local support for their cross-country venture.

“Hirsch Signs built and donated the signs and Magnum Fabricating built and donated fuel tanks so we can carry extra fuel and don’t have to stop and fuel up all the time. We also have other companies donating some fuel and money to help us get down there.”

Goldade then added that he has a message for Trudeau.

“The best thing Trudeau can do is lose the next election and stay out of politics. To me, he’s a puppet for the globalists. That’s not what a Prime Minister of Canada is supposed to be. He’s supposed to look after his people and his country first, protect his own citizens and he’s not doing that.”

Goldade says the trucks headed for Ottawa will be displayed at the Canadian Initiative rallies until they depart on the 14th.

That means Hatters will have three more opportunities to check out the trucks and potentially add to the convoy if they decide to do so.

The location for the next rally has yet to be officially announced however, after speaking to an organizer, it sounds like the next protest is scheduled for Saturday, January 26 from 12-2 p.m outside of the Tim Hortons on 13th Ave.
