A third daycare centre announces it is closing

MEDICINE HAT – It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find child care in Medicine Hat as a third day care announced it is shutting its doors.

Heaven’s Blessings posted on it’s Facebook page earlier today that it will be closing at the end of next month. Some parents were informed of the closure on Tuesday.

The owner of the centre spoke with CHAT News over the phone. She said it was an “extremely difficult” decision to make, but with another minimum wage increase on the way, it would be difficult to sustain the centre.

It’s the third child care centre to close it’s doors this year.

Calder Circle closed down in the spring, and the Salvation Army’s Rise and Shine centre closes on June 29th.

Every one of the centres has said rising costs are to blame for the closing.
