Tigers announce signing of new defenceman

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers have signed a defenceman to a standard player agreement.

The team announced Tuesday afternoon they had signed Ryan Watson, a member of the Delta Hockey Academy Midget Prep team.

“We believe that Ryan has a promising future in the game and look forward to his successes as a member of the Medicine Hat Tigers,” said Shaun Clouston, head coach and general manager of the Tigers, in a statement. “We would like to welcome Ryan and his family to the Tigers organization.”

Watson, who calls Delta B.C. home, recorded 19 points (4 goals, 15 assists) in 32 regular season games in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. He also notched seven points (1 goal, 6 assists) in four playoff games.
