Bow Island among Alberta communities receiving funding to strengthen rural primary care
Bow Island is among seven Alberta municipalities to receive provincial funding to strengthen access to primary care in rural communities.
The province announced Tuesday that an additional $9 million is being invested in rural primary care, including $1 million through the Municipality Supported Clinics Grant program.
Other communities receiving funding through the program are Picture Butte, Bruderheim, Bashaw, Delburne, Consort and Lac La Biche County.
The funding can be used for additional clinic staff, including medical office assistants, managers, navigators and virtual clinic coordinators, as well as medical equipment, staff training and technology.
