Medicine Hat athletes competing in hometown for Special Olympics Canada Summer Games
Four Medicine Hat athletes are competing on Team Alberta’s bocce team as the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games take place in their hometown this week.
Mike Baumgardt, Jessica McCombe, Ashley Truant and Nigel Zimmerman are among the athletes competing at the national Games, which continue in Medicine Hat through Saturday.
Admission is free for spectators wanting to watch the bocce competition at the Big Marble Go Centre.
Medicine Hat’s Kaylee Reetz is also part of Team Alberta, serving as a coach for the 12-athlete team.
