Over $114,000 Raised

YMCA of Southeastern Alberta exceed fundraising goal for Y Connect Campaign

Jul 29, 2026 | 10:37 AM

The YMCA of Southeastern Alberta says its 2026 Y Connect Campaign has surpassed its fundraising goal.

The campaign brought in $114,667 between April 1 and June 30, exceeding its target by 21 per cent.

The YMCA said the funds will help remove financial barriers for children, youth, adults and families looking to access programs including day camps, health and wellness services, and other community programs.

CEO Sharon Hayward thanked donors, sponsors, volunteers and participants for helping make the campaign a success.

“The success of this campaign will help ensure that local children, youth, adults, and families can access YMCA programs, services, and day camps when financial barriers might otherwise prevent participation,” Hayward said in a statement.

The YMCA said all money raised stays in Southeastern Alberta and goes toward financial assistance programs.

The public campaign has officially concluded; however, community members still have an opportunity to increase the impact of their support. Donations to the campaign will continue to be accepted until Aug. 31.

Donations will be matched by up to 50 per cent through the Rogers Birdies for Kids program.
