Fire ban in effect for Cypress County due to extreme fire hazard conditions
Cypress County has issued a fire ban due to extreme fire hazard conditions caused by dry weather, limited precipitation and hot, windy conditions.
The ban came into effect at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and applies throughout Cypress County, with all outstanding fire permits having been cancelled until further notice.
Under the fire ban, fireworks, incinerators, burning barrels, charcoal barbecues, recreational campfires, chimeneas and fires in designated camping and recreational areas are not permitted.
Internal household fireplaces, propane or natural gas-fuelled appliances, and wood pellet smokers remain permitted.
