The Medicine Hat Tigers have signed 2010-born goaltender Ben Meyer, the club announced Friday morning.

Meyer was selected 78th overall by the Tigers in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft and had an outstanding 2025-26 campaign representing the Regina Pat Canadians U18 AAA.

In 23 games, Meyer boasted a 19-1-2 record, 2.11 GAA, 0.922 SV%, and four shutouts.

The 5’11”, 170 lbs netminder becomes the fourth signed goaltender on the Tigers’ roster ahead of training camp, joining Jordan Switzer, Carter Casey, and Cash Christie.

The Tabbies have made early-season trades involving goaltenders in each of the last two seasons.

In September 2025, the Tigers sent G Cruz Chase to the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for a 2026 eighth-round pick that would go on to become Landon Ruck.

In October 2024, the Tigers acquired future 2025 WHL Playoffs MVP G Harrison Meneghin from the Lethbridge Hurricanes and, in the following weeks, traded G Zach Zahara to the Wenatchee Wild and G Ethan McCallum to the Saskatoon Blades.
