Medicine Hat FireFit Team finds success at Saskatchewan and Manitoba Regionals

Jun 24, 2026 | 12:42 PM

The Medicine Hat FireFit Team continued its strong 2026 season with a series of top finishes at the Saskatchewan and Manitoba FireFit Regional Championships held in Assiniboia over the Father’s Day weekend.

The team earned first-place finishes in both the Open Division and the Over-40 Division on Saturday, before adding more podium results in relay and team competitions on Sunday.

Among the individual performances, Josh Fauth finished second in the Over-40 category, while teammate Chad Hilderbrand placed third and recorded a personal-best time in one of his strongest showings to date.

Jason Labash claimed second place in the Over-45 division and finished seventh overall, while Steve Seymour captured first place in the Over-45 category and placed second overall among all competitors.

On Sunday, younger team members Dylan Yanke and Nathan Jerry team up with Michael Arnold in the Open Relay Division. Competing against larger five-person teams, the trio narrowly missed the podium by only a few seconds.

The Iron Horse Over-40 Relay Team of Seymour, Fauth, Labash, and Hilderbrand continued its winning form despite rainy conditions and thunderstorms, securing first-place finishes in both the Over-40 and Open divisions.

The team also enjoyed success in the Tech 2 competition. Yanke and Jerry captured first place in the Open Division, while Labash and Seymour earned first place in the Over-40 Division with a time that would have been good enough for second place overall. Arnold and Hilderbrand added another podium finish with second place in the Over-40 category.

Team members credited their success to the support of sponsors, family members, and volunteers who continue to help make competition opportunities possible throughout the season.

The Medicine Hat squad will now turn its attention to the FireFit National Championships, scheduled for September in Fredericton, N.B.
