Medicine Hat FireFit Team head to compete in Assiniboia after record performance this past weekend
The Medicine Hat FireFit Team Iron Horse is carrying significant momentum into this weekend’s Saskatchewan Regional Championships in Assiniboia after another record-setting performance at the Southern Alberta Regional Championships in Calgary.
Competing at Spruce Meadows, the team earned multiple podium finishes while continuing to establish itself as one of Canada’s premier FireFit programs.
The Iron Horse Over 40 Team captured first place in the Over 40 Team Division and finished second overall in the Open Team Division against competitors of all ages. The team also set a new Canadian national record in the Over 40 Relay event, lowering a mark that had previously been held by a Halifax team for several years.
According to team member Jason Labash, the relay team improved upon a previous national record time of 1:14.99, first breaking the mark in Leduc before lowering it again in Calgary with a time just over 1:10.
