Community Futures Entre-Corp has received $300,000 in funding to support workforce development and tariff resilience initiatives for manufacturers across southeast Alberta.

The funding, provided in part by the Government of Canada through the Canada-Alberta Workforce Tariff Response, will support a two-year program delivered in partnership with the Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC).

EMC is a national organization focused on manufacturing competitiveness, supporting industry members through workforce development, collaboration, and access to sector-specific expertise and resources.

As part of the initiative, a full-time position will be created to connect local manufacturers with training, industry expertise and workforce development resources designed to boost long-term capacity and adaptability.

Sean Blewett, general manager of Community Futures Entre-Corp, said the program will deliver targeted, industry-specific support directly to employers across the region.

Blewett added that the organization is grateful to funders and looks forward to partnering with the EMC to bring additional expertise and resources to local employers.

EMC president JP Giroux said the partnership will expand the organization’s national network into southeast Alberta and help strengthen local industry connections.

Giroux also said the organization is committed to helping build workforce capacity, strengthen resilience and improve competitiveness.

The program is expected to support long-term growth by linking regional manufacturers with broader industry resources and expertise.
