With 3:53 left in regulation, Kuntz was able to drain her fourth three-point shot of the night to pass Red Deer College’s Dedra Janvier’s previous mark of 202 baskets.

Kuntz took home player of the game honours in her last ACAC regular season contest, scoring a game-high 20 points and three assists.

Splitting her five collegiate seasons between Medicine Hat College and SAIT, Kuntz was also honoured after Friday’s game as the lone graduating player from this year’s Rattlers roster.

Kiana Mintz contributed 17 points off the bench in the victory, followed by 12 points and five rebounds out of Morgan Muir.

Wrapping up the regular season with the top record in the ACAC with an 18-3 record, the Rattlers will go to the ACAC provincial tournament with the first-place seed in the South Division.

Medicine Hat will have to wait to see who they’ll play in the opening game on Thursday though, as playoff spots out of the North Division will be determined on Saturday night.

The Rattlers men’s basketball team is also headed to the ACAC championships, as they clinched a playoff spot in their final game of the regular season 90-72 over the Lightning.

Pulling away in the third quarter, the Rattlers were able to rebound after dropping a pair of games last weekend to the SAIT Trojans to secure the playoff berth.

Kieron Burgess led the way with 24 points and 23 rebounds, and has posted a double-double in all 12 regular season games he’s played in since joining the team.

Seniors Jaamel Slack and DeAngelo Ashley also played in their final games at home on Friday, with Slack contributing 22 points and Ashley adding 12 points to his stats.

Like the Rattlers women’s team, the men will have to wait to see who they’ll face in playoffs as they currently sit second in the South Division with a 13-8 record, however that could change on Saturday.

The ACAC women’s tournament will be hosted at Keyano College in Fort McMurray, while the men’s championship will be played at Lakeland College in Lloydminster.
