Mustard Seed in Medicine Hat highlights $100M commitment to strengthen homelessness supports
The Mustard Seed in Medicine Hat is highlighting a national investment to address homelessness across North America, expected to strengthen local supports for people experiencing poverty and housing instability.
Canadian National Railway (CN) has announced a $100 million, 10-year commitment to fund shelters, service providers and homelessness-focused initiatives across Canada and the United States, set to begin in the summer of 2026.
The Mustard Seed said corporate partnerships are becoming increasingly important as demand for services grows.
James Gardiner, chief executive officer of The Mustard Seed, said homelessness is a complex issue requiring cross-sector collaboration, adding CN’s commitment signals a shift in how corporations can help advance meaningful solutions.
