Jonas Woo found the back of the net on the powerplay for his 28th goal of the season and the eventual game-winning tally as the Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-3.

With the goal, Jonas Woo has set a new single-season franchise record for points by a defenseman, surpassing Cliff Lane’s mark of 82 set during the 1975-76 season.

Kade Stengrim added a pair of goals, and Kadon McCann added an empty-netter as both players reached the 20-goal mark on the season.

Bryce Pickford and Andrew Basha also added singles in the win.

The Basha goal was his fifteenth of the season and fifth in as many games against the Hurricanes.

Jordan Switzer was steady between the pipes for the Tigers, turning aside 31 of 34 shots faced.

Koen Cleaver made 34 saves on 39 Tiger shots in the loss for Lethbridge.

The Hurricanes saw goals from Kade Duell, Owen Berge, and Kayden Longley.

The ‘Canes and Tigers conclude their regular-season series tomorrow night inside Co-op Place with Medicine Hat having an opportunity to sweep the season set for the first time since at least 1996.
