Several titles won by Medicine Hat area minor hockey teams

Minor hockey teams in the Medicine Hat area brought home several banners over the weekend.

Irvine Minor Hockey Bulldogs teams won a pair of banners at the U18 level.

The Female Bulldogs team won their first-ever banner in the Rocky Mountain Female Hockey League, taking the first two games in their best-of-three U18 B finals playoff series with Okotoks Green. The Bulldogs will compete in the U18 Female B Provincials in Fairview from March 19 to 22.

The Male Bulldogs team won the U18 Tier Three Gold Banner, taking a pair of games over Hanna. The Irvine team will continue to compete against other winners in the U18 Tier Three Central Alberta Hockey League playoffs as they look to secure the league’s spot in the U18 C Hockey Alberta Provincial Championship in Coaldale from March 26 to 29.

Success continued with the Medicine Hat Minor Hockey’s Female Wildcats programs. RMFHL wins came from the U13 A and B teams, along with the U11 B team. The U15 A team also won a consolation playoff banner. The U13 A Wildcats team went undefeated on the season with 20 wins and three ties. They will host provincials in Irvine from March 19 to 21. The U13 B Wildcats will travel to Vermilion to play in provincials from March 19 to 22.

Redcliff Minor Hockey had a pair of banners won at the CAHL U11 age group. The Tier Two and Tier Five teams both won the Blue banners.
