The British Columbia Hockey League has named Brooks Bandits goaltender Zach Zahara the second star of the week.

Zahara had a 2-0 record with a .959 percentage and a shutout in two games against the Spruce Grove Saints this past weekend.

His 24 wins are tied for the top spot among BCHL netminders.

Zahara went undefeated in the month of February with six wins; his last regulation loss was on Jan. 3.

The 20-year-old leads the BCHL in minutes played at 2206 across 37 games.

Zahara is a former Medicine Hat Tigers and South Alberta Hockey Academy goaltender who played in Medicine Hat from 2021 to 2025.

He joined the Bandits in January 2025 and helped lead the team to its first Fred Page Cup as BCHL Champions in May 2025.

The Bandits won seven of eight games in February and are back in action on Friday in Sherwood Park against the Crusaders.

They return home to the Centennial Regional Arena to host the Blackfalds Bulldogs on Saturday at 7 p.m. for billet appreciation night.

Heading into the weekend, the Bandits have clinched a playoff spot and are four points back of the Interior East Division leading Blackfalds Bulldogs, but have two games in hand.
