Statistics Canada has announced its plans to hire approximately 32,000 people across Canada to support the delivery of the 2026 Census.

This temporary employment opportunity contributes to a national initiative that plays a key role in shaping decisions related to community services, infrastructure planning, and government programs.

Glen Motz, Member of Parliament for Medicine Hat–Cardston–Warner, is encouraging residents in his riding to consider applying.

“Individuals seeking employment are encouraged to apply for positions with Statistics Canada for the upcoming Census,” said Motz in a statement.

“If you enjoy connecting with people and want to make a meaningful contribution to your community, applications are now being accepted for enumerator and crew leader positions,” he added.

“These roles are essential to ensuring accurate and reliable census data for communities across Canada.”

Enumerator and crew leader positions involve working directly with the public to collect census information.

This work ensures that communities are properly represented and that data reflects Canada’s diverse population.

Interested individuals are encouraged to apply online through the Government of Canada Census website.
