Jan 2, 2026 | 1:22 PM

After compiling an eight-game goal streak and signing his entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens, Medicine Hat Tigers captain Bryce Pickford has been named WHL Player of the Month for December, 2025.

The native of Chauvin, Alta., recorded 22 points over the month, including 14 goals, while helping the Tigers go a perfect 9-0-0-0 over the month and extend their win-streak to 13 straight games.

Pickford also netted five consecutive game-winning goals during the month, and has seven on the season, the most amongst the entire Canadian Hockey League.

The 19-year-old defenseman leads all Western Hockey League skaters in goals with 27 on the season and rides an 11-game point streak into 2026.

Bryce sits fourth in the WHL in points, ten back of Kamloops Blazers forward JP Hurlbert for the league lead.

Pickford and his defensive partner Jonas Woo each sit first and second in the entire WHL in +/- and points by defensemen.

The Tigers kick off 2026 tonight as they host the Moose Jaw Warriors in the first game of a home-and-home.

Tonight also marks the return of 20-year-old forward Andrew Basha.
