Another successful Toys for Tickets campaign
Alberta Health Services wrapped up its eighth annual Toys for Tickets campaign on Dec. 19.
As a result, officials say 1,218 new and unwrapped toys were collected and will be given to hospital foundations, community partners and local charities.
First starting in 2018, the program gives those who were ticketed while visiting any of AHS’s services; Alberta Health Services (AHS), Primary Care Alberta (PCA), Acute Care Alberta (ACA), Assisted Living Alberta (ALA) and Recovery Alberta, to purchase a new, unwrapped toy as an alternative to paying a fine, from the end of November until a week before Christmas.
Nick Ternovatsky, Health Shared Services Director of Parking Services, said, “it’s inspiring to see how people across Alberta show up for kids.”
