ABBA and Fleetwood Mac tribute group to perform at Medicine Hat’s Cars & Guitars

Aug 8, 2025 | 1:45 PM

The Cars and the Guitars event is set to take place at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Grounds on Saturday, with the night show featuring a group of musical performers taking the stage as two well known musical acts.

The west coast group of musicians from the Vancouver area performs as an ABBA tribute band for one set and as Dreams, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band for another performance.

Performer Karina Morin is one of the six members, and said the music and all the history of the two unique bands is what got them to start performing as tributes.

“The audience loves it. It’s the nostalgia. We played in all different kinds of bands, but when we put this one together it just clicked right away, and we saw the reaction from the audience was so positive,” Morin said.

“It kept us going for years and years, like the band has been together for about 20 years.”

Tracy Masson another performer with both acts said those who attend will see two authentic shows.

“We sound as close to the originals as possible and we’re in full costume,” Masson said.

“The ABBA is quite high energy with the choreography that we do and lots of great harmonies.”

Morin said they bring a really strong range of vocals and strong stage presence.

“People who are fans of the music will really feel like they’ve been part of the show, like almost the real thing,” Morin said.

“We’re trying to bring the happiness and spread the love.”

This isn’t the groups first stop in the city, so any concert goers who have attended the show in the past will have a new opportunity on the weekend.

The group is encouraging fans to come dressed up to get right into the show.

“If you like Fleetwood Mac or ABBA, wear something sparkly or something with fringe, just participate and become a part of the show with us,” Morin said.

“We love that, and we love when people dance along with us when we’re doing the ABBA, as well as Fleetwood Mac,” she added.

“It’s going to be a party and just get excited for that. Really let loose and have some fun.”

The show starts Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Stampede Grandstand with tickets available for $25 online through tickets.mhstampede.com, or the stampede office.

The car show will also be on the Stampede Grounds with free admission from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., presented by the Cypress Rod & Custom Club.
