Here’s where to cool off in Medicine Hat

With today’s forecast high of 34 C, the City of Medicine Hat says people looking to escape the heat do have some options.

People are welcome to visit the Big Marble Go Centre, the Medicine Hat Public Library, the vestibule at city hall or the Medicine Hat mall to cool off during regular operating house.

The city also has turned on the taps for ten water bottle fill stations around the city for those who need fresh, cold water on a hot day.

Environment Canada says when there is an extreme heat event, combined with poor air quality, the priority is keeping cool.

While a special air quality statement was discontinued, Environment Canada was expecting the air quality index to remain in the moderate risk range today due to local smoke.
