The Tigers are moving forward onto Games 3 and 4, and possibly 5 of the Western Hockey League final in Spokane, Washington.

The Monarch Theatre is screening each of the away games for free if donation by cash or non-perishable food item is made to the Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub.

Other venues screening away games include the Silver Buckle Sports Bar, The Scoreboard Sports Lounge, Ralph’s Texas Bar and Steak House, and both Boston Pizza locations.

The Silver Buckle will allow minors into the bar in the stadium seating and back area for the games thanks to a one-time Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission exemption.

Devon Potvin, owner of the Silver Buckle, said the Tigers’ own “DJ Orangeman’ will be performing before and after the games.

Organizers of the Tigers in the Park screening at Kin Coulee Park told CHAT News it will not be taking place again after the event that took place on Friday.

Janessa Anderson, managing director of the Monarch Theatre, said an arena atmosphere is hoped to be created at the theatre.

She said even with the Tigers being eight hours away in Spokane, the theatre is able to show support.

“It’s been awesome since they’ve started this playoff run,” she said.

“Even throughout the season, watching people just garner that support for the Tigers and following them through and really supporting them through this playoff push,” she added.

“With the theater here, we want to create an awesome family atmosphere that you can come in, cheer on the Tigers. Bring your pom-poms, bring your signs.”

Anderson said the theatre loves the chance that the public is able to support the Tigers “in this awesome building”.

She said when the Monarch 1911 Society began working on restoration efforts towards the theatre in 2023, they pushed to include everything entertainment-wise.

“We don’t want to just put ourselves in a box to only be film,” she said.

“That’s why we’ve hosted not only film, but we’ve had concerts now. We’re gonna do these game screenings, and see what else opens up down the line.”

The Tigers 3 and 4 playoff games in Spokane will be screened at the Monarch Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday, and game 5 on Friday if the team moves forward.

Doors open at 7 p.m. each night with the puck drop at 8 p.m.
